The Senior Software Quality Automation Engineer has responsibility for planning, development, and implementation of automated testing solutions to benefit project specific software development efforts.  Solutions shall be based on assessment of software function and performance requirements, definition of design specifications, development of major routines and utility programs, resolution of software compatibility and interface problems and analysis of the system's architecture.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Be the lead SQE developer for our Test Automation development team
  2. Write detailed test plans for assigned features to include manual and automated tests.
  3. Define test strategy for reusable project based components.
  4. Help set the direction, process, and general test methodology for parallel development of the software and automated test suite.
  5. Assist/train other members of the team with technical problems in test environments and script development
  6. Work with engineering teams to resolve issues arising in the test process
  7. Develop and maintain automated scripts and libraries for testing ERT project development efforts.
  8. As a member of an Agile project team, you will work together with Product Owners, Developers, and other SQE Engineers to deliver high quality product releases.
  9. As a Test Automator, you will identify opportunities to create new automation test programs and maintain our suite of automated regression tests in order to increase our automated test coverage.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills Needed:

  1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or related degree
  2. 5-8 years of software quality testing, with at least 4 years working with automated testing tools
  3. Strong familiarity with scripting languages such as Java, Python or Ruby.
  4. Experience using automated testing frameworks such as Robot Framework, Cucumber, or Watir
  5. Experience building automated test suites with Selenium Webdriver implementations.
  6. Experience with mobile frameworks such as Appium or Selendroid a big plus.
  7. Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
  8. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  9. Experience designing data-driven and/or self-validating automated tests.  
  10. Understands Agile/Scrum and knows how QA fits into the Agile SD Lifecycle and what comes next.
  11. The ability to identify new testing techniques and tools that can help us test more, better, and faster.
  12. Experience in test automation for Mobile devices across apple and android operating systems.
  13. Working knowledge of product installations and virtual machine management
