Our Philadelphia office is currently seeking a Commissions Analyst.  The Commissions Analyst will be responsible for calculating commission/incentive award payments for business development personnel based on commission plan provisions. Assist management in the development of sales commission and incentive programs through model development and expense analysis and forecasting. 

 

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calculate commission/incentive award payments based on plan provisions.
  • Prepare commission payment reports for business development representatives.
  • Review commission payment reports for accuracy and to resolve commission/incentive reconciliation issues.
  • Resolves reconciliation payment issues as required by issue identification.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the organization's compensation plans to ensure payments are accurate and in compliance.
  • Record monthly calculated commissions for the general ledger.
  • Maintain the sales organizational hierarchy, and make necessary system changes to support commission payment administration for new hires, terminations, or compensation plan changes.
  • Perform support needed for development, implementation, communication and administration of sales commissions or incentive programs, plans and quotas.
  • Maintain and/or audit revenue data needed to calculate and track payment details.
  • Analyze sales performance results, prepare commission reports/dashboards to sales and/or finance management. 
  • Synthesize large amounts of data into concise, actionable messaging and reporting.
  • Uses spreadsheets, databases and/or ERP systems to gather data necessary for payment calculation.
  • Perform cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission/incentive plan design or quota levels.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Incorporate industry learnings and best practices into standard operation procedures.
  • Provide general day-to-day support of sales staff and management related to commission payment administration.
  • Proactively monitor sales data in order to identify trends, anomalies, and other insights.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, mathematics or accounting (a Master’s degree is a plus).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably working with sales commissions for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Salesforse.com experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Robust analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, with the ability to interpret and synthesize financial data and present in an accurate, concise, digestible and actionable manner.
  • 2+ years of experience working in an advisory capacity to senior management
