Reporting to the Director, Marketing Communications, the Events Manager is responsible for overseeing all ERT external events, including industry conferences, trade shows, webinars and company-produced customer meetings.  Key areas of focus include event selection, pre-meeting planning and project management, event promotion and onsite/virtual execution. The successful candidate will be able to deftly balance multiple projects and priorities, has strong project management and communications skills, a creative flair with an eye for graphic design, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic and highly collaborative environment.           

                                                           

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and manage ERT external events calendar: select and vet new event opportunities, provide justification for company participation, identify deadlines for speaker sessions and abstracts; ensure calendar is up to date and accessible to Sales & Marketing teams
  • Oversee trade shows:  Manage external show services vendor; create and execute event marketing plans that maximize ERT ROI and support company objectives; identify booth traffic drivers and other pre-, onsite and post-show promotion; work with Sales and Marketing leaders to identify participants and ensure successful follow-up plans are in place
  • Produce ERT customer & prospect events:  Manage forums for new and existing customers, including customer advisory board meetings, local seminars, and larger-scale conferences.  Responsibilities include site selection, project management, registration and promotion, onsite oversight, etc.
  • Coordinate webinars:  Manage invitation and registration processes; moderate events; identify opportunities to engage audiences and enhance the overall event; work with Product Marketing and Marketing Operations to ensure that follow-up plans are in place to capitalize on leads generated
  • Develop presentation abstracts:  Work with Marketing team and other subject matter experts to develop pitches and descriptions for consideration by industry events; track acceptance progress
  • Support presentation development for conference & webinar presentations:  Ensure presentations on brand and visually appealing; work with Product Marketing and other speakers to ensure that presentations are crisp and compelling
  • Identify best practices and apply learnings from prior events to promote continuous improvement at ERT
  • Work with external designers on visual elements including booth graphics, banners and signage; event-specific collateral, e.g., handouts and invitations; and other promotional elements as identified in event marketing plan
  • Maintain strong and effective relationships with vendor partners. Coordinate project details, event timelines, cost estimates and final deliverables. Negotiate with vendors to decrease costs where possible.
  • Mine internal data systems, e.g., sf.com, to extract lead information, analyze event results, and prep event recap/calculate ROI for internal presentations
  • Develop event budgets and track related expenses
  • Manage ERT premiums and giveaways; ensure brand compliance as well as creative yet cost-effective options
  • Update corporate website with regular postings related to ERT events and webinars

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business/Marketing/Communications

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 5 years of event marketing experience working in a B2B Marketing department role
  • Experience working in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry a plus

Technical skills:

  • Outstanding communication, writing and negotiation skills
  • Strong event marketing expertise and experience managing trade shows a must
  • Strong project management skills, including organizing, prioritizing and tracking all phases of a project
  • Excellent Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of Salesforce.com and CMS a plus
