Overview

 

The Solutions Architect will provide user advice and guidance on the company’s existing product suite; in collaboration with internal and external departments and teams actively seek improvements, developing and implementing new product suite innovations which meet business objectives and overcome problems. The role involves providing support on a range of activities, including business development, marketing, project management, systems development and assessing and advising on risk management. They may also be responsible for user training and feedback.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To present a range of innovative solutions and options to business development of how to fulfil contracts using a combination of the existing product range, enhancements to existing products and additional products
  • To produce and present demonstrations and proof of concept applications which support and influence business development and marketing
  • To work through a project as a member of the development team, delivering product range enhancements, either as an additional resource or as technical lead
  • To maintain regular contact with the project management team, providing expertise and advice on how to fulfil the requirements of a service using the existing and planned product suite
  • To proactively seek opportunities to improve the range, structure and efficiency of the organisation’s products and services
  • To develop business plans for potential future products and services for presentation to the Exco Management Team
  • To be an accessible resource to all other employees of the company, providing advice on all aspects of existing and future products
  • To be actively involved, where required in the development of current and future products
  • To identify hardware, software and OS upgrades, in conjunction with the IT Manager, that can help improve company’s products and services
  • To provide second and third tier support and maintenance of existing products and services
  • To maintain a broad understanding of practices and developments in the Computing, Pharmaceutical and Health Care industries
  • To maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's SOP’s relevant to the role
  • To adhere to Quality and Regulatory compliance including, but not limited to, those for MHRA and FDA Regulatory bodies
  • To be an effective team member possessing a range of practical skills and demonstrate flexibility at all times
  • To proactively contribute to and suggest ways of improving processes in the workplace
  • To demonstrate self-awareness regarding personal and technical training needs
  • The position may involve other duties appropriate to the role

Qualifications

Skills

Technical

Competence in more than one of the following technical/job specific skills:

  • Good knowledge of the following technologies SQL Server, the SQL language, .NET development and other relevant programming languages
  • Good understand of the technologies and IT practices available to the Company and those being developed in industry
  • Experience in a 21 CFR Part 11 FDA regulated environment desirable
  • HIPAA regulated environment desirable

Competence in all of the following personal skills is required for this role:

  • Detail oriented, flexible, and works well in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work in a high pressure, results / deadline orientated environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible attitude and ability to work in teams

  • Proficient in MS office suite of programs

  • Excellent/Good verbal and written English is required for this role

 

 

Education and Experience

  • BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or computer related program or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive experience in a professional software development environment. Typically gained over a 5 year period and some experience of working in an agile software development environment
