  • Overview

    ERT - Boston is hiring an Associate Director, Business Development to pursue new business and key account opportunities for all ERT services in the small to moderate size pharmaceutical marketplace. Will have an assigned territory in their respective region with appropriate sales objectives and bookings goals in ERT’s key service and product areas.

    Responsibilities

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Deliver assigned bookings target in defined time period
    • Identifying new business opportunities through daily research in marketing/sales tools, LinkedIn, ClinicalTrials.gov, Zymewire etc.
    • Telephone based sales and marketing with the objective of introducing prospective customers to ERT services and securing follow up phone calls or meetings to close new business.
    • Follow up on and initiate sales on all leads in their respective territory generated from:
      • Incoming leads/calls
      • Assigned Trade Shows
      • Responses from any marketing activities (Webinars, workshops, etc.)
      • General Networking
    • Field Sales Meetings as required in support of key opportunities in their respective territories to advance the sale.
    • Documenting all activity related to all identified opportunities in their respective assignment, including Salesforce.com,  proposal request and contract management.
    • Support the development of ERT’s Market Database (Companies, Contacts, Compounds, etc.)
    • Support Sales-to-Service process and serve as point of escalation post-sale for the customer

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:

     

    • Two years of Internal/External Sales, preferably in the Life Sciences or technical industry.
    • 2-3  years direct experience with customers in operational, training, or sales environment
    • Operational or Project Management in clinical research environment is helpful, but not required.

    The Department Head has the discretion to hire personnel with a combination of experience and education which may vary from the above listed qualifications.
