  • Overview

    ERT - Cleveland is hiring a Solutions Engineer to create quality technical solutions to solve client problems in accordance with governing regulations and ERT policies and processes. Will be responsible for developing and helping to successfully deliver a project specific highly interactive web application for clinical research data acquisition and data management that is deployed onto a Cloud environment available for use worldwide.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Design, implement, and test software applications and/or technical solutions as defined in the requirement and functional specifications.
    2. Create and maintain design documentation in support of software and/or solution development.
    3. Integrate the clinical research data acquisition with the backend project specific databases
    4. Participate as the software development member of a project team lead by a Project Manager and including contributors from Clinical Study Design, Software Quality Assurance and Data Delivery
    5. Assist in the coordination of activities between the departments and/or product lines to ensure the highest level of quality in the products delivered to the customer.
    6. Demonstrate creative thinking and technical problem solving in the design, development, integration, packaging, and testing software or solutions.
    7. Successfully manage multiple projects, clients and priorities simultaneously.
    8. Through direct contact or through the Trial Manager or other client representative, seek client input, provide support, and maintain a professional relationship with clients on a project-by-project basis.
    9. Participate in code reviews in various roles as requested.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Track changes to all modified source code in version management software.
    2. Track changes of testing of yet-to-be-released products in the quality tracking software.
    3. Work closely with others inter- and intra- product line to:
      1. Assist in the formal validation of software applications.
      2. Resolve assigned customer inquiries and requests for product and technical information.
      3. Resolve testing issues.
      4. Resolve client implementation issues.
    4. Provide accurate and detailed project time reports, complete assignments within the prescribed timeline, seeking supervision/consultation/assistance in a timely manner.
    5. Consistently and dependably engage in the process of critical thinking in order to formulate and implement recommendations or decisions.
    6. Travel (minimal) to client locations, conferences, training, etc. to develop greater technology, industry, and product knowledge and serving as a liaison for knowledge transfer upon return.
    7. Other related projects & tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED: 

    1. At least 2-5+ years of related software experience.
    2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering with emphasis placed on data management and imaging preferred. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
    3. Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle. Comprehensive and current knowledge of OO/SOA software development methodologies.
    4. Comprehensive and current knowledge of technical architecture as necessary for development of software.
    5. Expert knowledge and strengths in many of the following:
      1. .NET Architecture, .NET related technologies and development methodologies.
      2. C#/C++ related development environments, application servers, and deployments.
      3. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery and other web technologies.
      4. Developing web applications using ASP.NET MVC 5 or later.
      5. Using, deploying and managing Microsoft SQL Server databases.
      6. Developing for iOS and Android mobile platforms using Xamarin, Objective-C/Swift and/or Android SDK.
      7. Windows and Unix-based operating systems, application server (IIS) and portal technologies.
      8. Use of Git for source control management.
      9. User interface design (web and/or desktop) using the latest technology.
    1. Knowledge of risk management techniques and the ability to analyze and resolve problems.
    2. Experience working in a regulated industry, preferably within pharmaceutical, medical device or medical imaging.
    3. Excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong ability to collaborate in English with teams of research scientists, bioinformaticians, software developers, and external collaborators. Will have frequent interaction with clients, suppliers, management and staff.
    4. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision in order to deliver high quality at high productivity.
    5. Ability to mentor and lead others in development and administrative tasks

    The Department Head has the discretion to hire personnel with a combination of experience and education, which may vary from the above listed qualifications.
