  • Overview

    Join our growing company in our Philadelphia office as Director, Supply Chain and oversee the US Supply Chain Department to ensure that the related activities are being completed accurately and efficiently for all business lines, and that departmental and yearly goals are being met.

     

    In this role, you will provide leadership and direction for all areas of our US Supply Chain efforts (including administration, production for all business lines, shipping guidelines, customs / global trade, receiving and warehousing, replenishment for production, commissioning and disinfection of returns and stock level management (OPSI)). You will also monitor “Project Assurance” metrics and goals and be an active participant in determining these objectives.

    Responsibilities

    This is a very key role and covers a wide variety of responsibilities, including:

     

    SYSTEMS INFRASTRUCTURE

    1. Assume responsibility for all company shipping, production and handling of US facilities. This includes the freight management of all equipment, supplies, materials, reports, data, and general communications that are couriered between the company, and the company’s out-sourcing partners and warehouse, clients, and sites.
    2. Responsible for instituting and maintaining inventory systems t. Support all implementation tasks related to any new or updated system. Ensure that systems meet business and Regulatory standards.
    3. Create, develop, incorporate and integrate needed processes and technology that will increase departmental accuracy, efficiency, and production. (this sounds like a goal)
    4. Identify current procedures and systems that are not effective and direct initiatives to replace or restructure those procedures or systems. 
      1. Organise and structure departmental staff for optimum performance and use the green field approach to set up state of the art Supply Chain.
      2. Ensure the department is adequately staffed and trained in order to maintain continuous workflow.
        Create and organise departmental organisational schemes and hierarchy.
      3. Work together with the global Supply Chain team in order to benefit from synergies and optimize as well as harmonize global structures and processes


    TEAM DEVELOPMENT

    1. Develop and oversee the proper staffing for the Supply Chain Department in US:
      1. Track and report department and individual metric performance. Utilise metrics to motivate and reward team.
      2. Promote continuous education and career paths for Supply Chain staff.
      3. Conduct timely, quality evaluations for direct reports and insure all other Supply Chain staff evaluations are completed in the same manner.
      4. Conduct regular team meetings to analyse yearly goals and objectives.
      5. Ensure proactive resolution to employee issues.
    2. Perform various new employee orientation programs for recent Company hires.
    3. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

     

    CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Report Supply Chain Department conduct, efficiencies, and metrics to Vice President, Manufacturing & Supply Chain.
    2. Work with Operations management and the QA to ensure departmental adherence to Company SOPs. Create new SOP’s/SWI’s and update active SOPs/SWI’s to assure that they accurately reflect current operating procedures.
    3. Work with the global Supply Chain team in order to identify synergies for quick wins. Harmonize global Supply Chain processes and documentations as far as possible.
    4. Manage monthly billing for contracted Supply Chain activities.
      1. Maintain billing records to insure proper billing for all supplies and equipment rental charges.
      2. Review all shipping records to derive proper freight billing or reimbursement.
      3. Review all shipping record to derive proper “Shipment Handling” charges.
    5. Report all Departmental expenses and meet all budget plans.
      1. Track and monitor all expenses incurred by the department.
      2. Actively search and eliminate profit leaks inherent in the functions of the department.
    6. Assist in ERT Company tours and demonstrations relating to the Supply Chain Department or protocol operation.


    DEPARTMENT FUNCTIONALITY:

    1. Set up production and Supply Chain site for all ERT business lines in the US and formulates effective operational plan consistent with business strategy. Sets priorities based on business needs.
    2. Site lead / Key employee of US Supply Chain hub Philadelphia
    3. Manage the Supply Chain Department to provide initial and ongoing inventory and general support of the company sites.
    4. Provide material supplies for manufacturing through sufficient inventory planning, warehousing reworks planning and commissioning
    5. Monitor and organise shipping schedules for shipments. Identifies and recommends action on emerging issues in collaboration with cooperating departments across the globe and business lines.
    6. Anticipates potential threats and opportunities based on market, new technologies and processes, customer needs and in collaboration with global SC team.
    7. Manage the operation and maintenance of all the Company equipment used for data collection and transfer. This includes researching new equipment items to help the Company stay competitive within the industry.
    8. Responsible for insuring that the Supply Chain Department maintains the appropriate Inventory levels of all necessary items used to support the company’s activities and trials. This includes sustaining the accuracy of inventory counts and rental item locations.
    9. Provides insight and assist in development of operating budget. Accountable for performance against operational budget.

     

    OTHER:

    1. Develop, Maintain & Report Key Performance Indicators within department and with technology and service partners to ensure quality, timeliness and productivity/delivery goals are met
    2. Responsible for any special projects that may be assigned as needed by Vice President global Manufacturing and Supply Chain. He/she will provide updates to the status of assignment, about differences in given deadlines, the measures taken and generally about all business-related aspects.

    Qualifications

    Our ideal candidate will offer:

    1. Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent. Bachelor degree in Supply Chain preferred or equivalent
    2. Minimum 10 years management experience in supply chain management
    3. Significant and relevant management and leadership experience (50+ team members)
    4. Excellent organisational, oral and communication skills, commitment and motivation
    5. Self-control and assertiveness
    6. Matrix- and Cross-cultural/functional working experience
    7. IT Supply Chain tools/ERP skills necessary
    8. Creativity, Flexibility and Proactiveness, Project management skills
    9. Ability to be on travel (round about 25 %)
    10. Ability to react quickly to an ever-changing environment and have excellent problem solving skills
