    Our Boston office is hiring for a Senior Technical Project Consultant to provide project consulting for strategic internal projects for R&D and Information Technology including, but not limited to, the successful requirements and task management for integration of various software technologies and facilitation of engineering development teams.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Define and direct a program of activities which reflect the strategic integration priorities of software technologies delivered by the R&D department.
    • Participate in and plan for the incorporation of new software technologies introduced through corporate mergers and acquisitions.
    • Gather detailed requirements to facilitate successful end to end integration of software products across the software development and product management teams worldwide.   
    • Define, communicate and execute a clear program of activities and deliverables, monitor progress, remove obstacles and ensure on time delivery.
    • Serve as a central source of information across product lines and locations within the R&D department and to the rest of the company.
    • Reports to the VP, Portfolio Management but reflects the strategic priorities set by the Chief Development Officer in concert with the R&D leadership team.
    • Prepares and assesses project plans to determine schedule, cost, equipment and staffing requirements and makes adjustments as necessary.
    • Ensures that proper procedures and development milestones are defined in advance and executed in process.
    • Manage communication from R&D to the Operational Readiness Team to ensure efficient transition of products as they move from development to operational readiness activities.
    • Assures that Development Lifecycle processes as determined by the Quality Management System are followed and ensures all phases, deliverables and artifacts are systematically prepared on time.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications and Skills Needed: 

    • BA, BS or equivalent
    • 10+ years’ experience managing the building and delivery of scalable, high-performance, reliable, highly available distributed software systems
    • 10+ years’ experience gathering and documenting technical requirements in a software development organization
    • 10+ years’ experience managing a cross-functional matrix of product management engineering leadership, engineering and information technology resources
    • 10+ years’ experience managing people and performance
    • Produce high quality results and drive forward progress while managing deadlines
    • Domestic and International travel expected to facilitate global engineering teams
